Steve this may be the hard truth, that no one really wants to know anout. Same with the traditional healers in south africa, no-one wants to be a sangoma in their right mind, since the troubles of the path are known and intensely avoided. Many white sangoma initiates have a romanticized view of being a shaman/sangoma, but having been on this path I can tell you personally its full of darkness, not transcendental looking at the stars...and that is perhaps why it can be considered one of the hardest paths because its really getting busy into the dark realms of the human condition, that can either overwhelm and destroy one, as many shamans have met their ends, or at best one helps to heal and console those who are afflicted, and try maintain oneself in the process!
Thanks Jean

steve the definitions, meanings and understandings of spirit and soul is such an important yet seemingly unpopular topic, that needs to be urgently unpacked. Everyone uses the word spirit liberally, spirit molecule, spirituality etc... but what spirit, soul, god, mind, and consciousness originally meant is important to know. Perhaps it can be elaborated on...Thanks steve enjoying your blog.
